The dangers and harm done by marijuana use has been under debate for decades and show no signs of lessening. Whether marijuana addiction exists or not is even more hotly debated. Addiction is a condition characterized by repeated compulsive seeking and use of drugs, alcohol or other substances despite adverse social, mental and physical consequences. When addiction exists, the drug controls the individual rather than the individual controlling the usage. Statistics do show increasing numbers of people entering addiction treatment reporting marijuana as their primary drug of abuse. Add to this the much stronger strains of marijuana available and the tendency to mix the drug with other substances such or crack and PCP and the potential for addiction becomes more pronounced. Rather than endlessly debate the issue, one should simply look at the marijuana use of self or a loved one against the above definition.

Can a drug habit cause an addict to have liver problems? When my daughter started using we tried to find an alcohol rehabilitation centers center for her but the one we wanted to send her to would not take her because her liver was bad and this meant she wouldn't be able to do the program. Is there a program we can send her to that will help her overcome this addiction and get rid of the toxins stored in her body so she doesn't relapse? What kind of alcohol rehabilitation centers will be best for her so that she can overcome this horrible a drug habit?

Every time I think of what my sister went through when she was dealing with her substance dependency I get sick to my stomach. The way she looked was horrible all sunken in and skinny. Thank god we were able to find residential drug treatment for her before she killed herself.
