You I know I have committed my life to helping people getting off drugs and education people about the dangers of drugs so maybe just maybe we can end some of the insanity. Unfortunatley by the time I talk to most people about treatment, they really need residential addiction treatment center.
Thats the hard part, most people think they can end years, quite possibly decades of drug and alcohol addiction in just a few days or weeks, and most want to do so in an outpatient addiction treatment center. Often the outpatient addiction treatment center is a breeding ground of drug activity and as long as the addict is in the enviorment that is providing all of the 'triggers' it really makes it hard to make gains in addiction recovery.
We do our best to get people to understand all that is involved with addiction, both mentally and physically so that the addict and family can see what it takes to recover. Substantial time in a destimulating enviorment really gives the addict the best chance of getting clean and this is best done in residential drug and alcohol addiction treatment centers of several months. yes I said several months, anything less greatly reduces the chances, and I cannot do you the disservice of misinforming you. I wouldnt ask you to swim the English Channel without proper training, or the desire to do so. It takes hard work and dedication, addiction is one of the hardest things a person will ever overcome.
